Gloucester Quays Multistorey is the best place overall and one of the cheapest. On peak days, bank holidays etc it is the same story as other outlets, not enough parking. Consider Park and Ride.
Take care not to get clamped in the retail park parking opposite the Quays to the South in Bristol Rd. Most of this car park is for the retail shops only. If you are dropping shopping off here then remember not to leave it on show. It is best not to leave your car here overnight.
Gloucester Docks car parking is great for visiting the city shops and attractions, though a bit expensive.
The car park to the North on the new Hempsted Bypass off the A40 is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays only.
In the city there are quite a few smaller car parks and two multistorys. The Bruton Way one is the furthest away from the Quays but still not far at all to walk.
If you are staying overnight then the Edward Hotel allows you to park early in the morning and to leave your car all day on the day of departure.
There are a few street parking spaces but these are time restricted, if it is really busy then rather than cruise around for thirty minutes or so try the park and rides.
